🌾 Welcome to Swell Acres: A Simpler, More Soulful Way to Live
Hi, I’m Genika “GG” Simon — founder of Swell Acres, the heart behind Swell Living, and a proud believer that life doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautifully swell.
If you’ve ever dreamed of slowing down, lighting a candle, and actually tasting your coffee before it goes cold, you’re in the right place.
Because here at Swell Acres, we’re building a life that’s less about hustle and more about harmony — a life that’s slower, simpler, more soulful, and a whole lot more real.
💛 The Swell Living Rule of Life
Swell Living is my wholehearted belief that our home, style, mental health, holistic wellness, and community are all connected — and that when women tend to these things with care, we heal, thrive, and remember that we are worthy of the beautiful lives God has given us.
I believe every woman has a Swell Niche — her own sweet spot where she can create, serve, and live in rhythm with her routines, energy, and purpose.
And that’s what this space is about: helping you find your groove, your flow, and your version of peace.
After a life full of breathtaking highs and difficult lows, I can say this with a laugh and a grateful heart — I’m finally Swell Living — with humor, grace, and style.
Through my blog, books, printables, courses, videos, and speaking, I share my real journey to encourage other women and to build community, connection, and sisterhood through our shop, classes, events, retreats, and experiences — both online and in person.
This is my “Rule of Life”: to live simply, love deeply, and leave things a little better — and a little prettier — than I found them.
🏡 The Heart Behind Swell Acres
Swell Acres began the same way most good things do — by accident, and in the kitchen.
There were dishes in the sink, a simmer pot on the stove, and me, standing barefoot in my robe, wondering how life had gotten so loud.
After years in the luxury hospitality world, fine dining, and brand work, I realized I was missing the simplest thing: peace. I wanted quiet mornings, homemade meals, thrifted treasures, fresh air, and good company.
I didn’t want to scroll through other people’s lives — I wanted to live mine.
So I started over — one thrift find, one candle, one deep breath at a time.
That’s how Swell Acres was born: a place where we bring together thrift, creativity, wellness, and community — all rooted in old-fashioned simplicity and modern grace.
It’s not a farm. (Though someday, maybe it will be.)
It’s a philosophy.
A way of life.
A reminder that we can live beautifully and meaningfully — right where we are.
🌿 What Simple Living for Women Really Means
Let’s be honest: “simple living” doesn’t mean your life looks like a Pinterest board.
It means waking up and choosing what matters most — your peace, your people, your purpose.
Simple living for women and homemakers means taking care of yourself the way you take care of everyone else. It means building systems that support your soul — routines that actually work with your life, not against it.
It’s brewing tea before scrolling.
It’s lighting a candle before chaos.
It’s learning that the world won’t fall apart if you take a nap.
Here at Swell Acres, simple living is equal parts self-care and stewardship — a dance between gratitude and growth.
Because peace isn’t found in a cabin or a Pinterest quote — it’s found in the moment you decide to stop chasing and start cherishing.
🕯️ Swell Living in Everyday Practice
When women visit Swell Acres, they often ask, “Where do I start?”
Here’s my answer: start small, but start with heart.
Try one of these simple rituals this week:
-
Light a candle before your morning routine — make it an act of presence.
-
Simmer a pot of orange peel, cinnamon, and clove while you clean.
-
Declutter one drawer, then rest — that’s enough.
-
Journal one good thing each night — and mean it.
-
Say grace before meals and before mistakes.
This is the Swell Living way — not about doing everything, but about doing something with love.
🌸 The Homemaker as Healer, Artist, and Guide
Being a homemaker — whether you’re single, partnered, a mom, or just someone who loves making things cozy — is powerful work.
Homemaking isn’t a lost art. It’s a healing art.
Every time we cook, fold, decorate, or clean, we’re creating comfort, order, and safety — not just for others, but for ourselves.
I’ve come to see homemaking as therapy, prayer, and creative expression all rolled into one.
It’s where we practice grace.
It’s where we learn resilience.
It’s where we rediscover joy.
That’s why Swell Living exists — to remind us that care, beauty, and peace are not luxuries. They’re lifelines.
🌾 Swell Missions: Purpose That Ripples
Part of every class, product, or event at Swell Acres helps fund Swell Missions — a peer-support and small-business initiative for women recovering from hardship, trauma, or burnout who are ready to rebuild on their own terms.
Because sometimes the next right step isn’t a job — it’s a purpose.
Swell Missions gives women community, structure, and encouragement to start small, dream again, and create meaningful, independent work — just like I did.
When women rise, homes heal. And when homes heal, whole communities do too.
🪴 Old-Fashioned Living, Modern Heart
I’ll admit it — I’m a little old-fashioned. I like printed newspapers, real conversations, handwritten notes, and recipes that start with “a pinch of this.”
Swell Living blends that nostalgic simplicity with a modern, mindful approach.
We still love a thrift haul, a clean kitchen, and a little self-care — but we do it with heart, humor, and balance.
Whether it’s homemade body care, simple natural cleaning products, simmer pots, or handmade gifts, every part of Swell Living celebrates living beautifully — not busily.
Because a slower life isn’t a smaller one — it’s a sweeter one.
